I’m partial to food made at home with real ingredients, and I believe you can always find time to make something good, even if it’s just Parmesan toast with fresh tomato and cracked pepper.
I never make it out the door with everything I need, and I never make it home with everything I went out for. But that’s okay. Simpler is usually better, and the best way to find out what you don’t need is to forget to buy it.
I try to keep the ingredients in my recipes simple because not everybody can whip down to the corner store to buy galangal root and Phuket curry powder. Believe me, up here in my hometown of Exile, Oregon, I’m sailing in the same boat.
I’ve got three cats underfoot who make it difficult to get anything done, but I wouldn’t trade ’em for the world. I might trade them for freshly washed laundry without muddy paw prints, though. If you happen to see any of my three aggravations, you might mention that.
